Not so Secret Verona

Even if you do not live in beautiful Verona, NJ I hope you find the collage art in my Secret Verona shop intriguing. The first step was moving here in August of 2021 and beginning to explore. Hmm. What will I find if I travel west on Bloomfield Avenue instead of east? Walking and biking are great ways to explore.

Pictured here are just a few photos I took of things that caught my eye. I edited, printed, and coated them with acrylic medium. I cut, ripped, sorted, and, glued. I worked with twelve 5x5” basswood panels to create a series and employed four color themes, red, blue, aqua, and black & white. These collages also include drawings, gel plate prints, various other papers, and heavy-body acrylic to introduce patterns and textures.

 I set a goal to finish them all in time for my June through August 2023 solo show at the Verona Public Library. I finished 9 in time for the opening and subsequently completed all 12. Look closely, what “secrets” can you uncover?
